Graduation!

The University of Redlands held its' commencement ceremonies this past weekend. A small slice of the jube:

Just another rainy day in the neighborhood

It's near the end of May - not even a week ago we had temperatures in triple digits - but mother nature still wants to wet us down one last time before a long, hot summer.

Unfortunately because we were right in the middle of overcast skies I couldn't get a shot of the lightning, nor was I in a position (or again, the visibility) to get pictures of the tornado that struck Moreno Valley and allegedly forced an evacuation of March Air Reserve Base.

Atypical Wedding

Not your average ceremony, but just as much fun for all involved - I had an opportunity to shoot a family friend's wedding in Northern California in early May. Here's a neat moment during the reception:

2007 SPJ Awards

A banner moment for yours truly earlier this month: I was honored by the Society of Professional Journalists with first place in the Best Video News Story category.

This year marked the first time they had categories specifically for web work (i.e. videos, blogs, podcasts etc...). So, for what it's worth it was nice to snag one of the inaugural prizes for the new categories, and I got a nifty little plaque to decorate my room with.

The ceremony also gave me a nice opportunity to see a lot of the folks in the SoCal newspaper biz that I haven't seen in quite some time.

Visit to San Francisco (Escape from SoCal)

Got a chance to visit my favorite city - or a reprieve from smoggy Southern California - it's a toss up. Here's a few shots from the city by the bay:
